Mindsoup Counselling Service was established in early 2009.
I started working as a Counsellor in 2005 so am able to offer an experienced counselling service, for short-term and long-term counselling with an Integrative approach to suit your individual needs and requirements
This is a counselling service for adults (18+) as individuals, couples or groups.
I cover a wide range of issues, including anxiety , depression , trauma and PTSD, low self- esteem, relationship issues, addiction , loss, phobias to name a few. For more information please click here for the Issues page.
I also work as a Counsellor for the Priory Hospital Group.
I am also qualified Supervisor and Continued Professional Development Trainer in specialist areas , such as Addiction, Eating Disorders, Mindfulness , Trauma and Ethical Practice. I run these through Mindsoup directly , and for other organisations such as MIND and the Priory Group.
Previous experience includes working for the NHS and for Charitable Organisations including Cruse Bereavement.
I am an Accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. (BACP) and the National Counselling Society. (NCS) and therefore adhere to their ethical and professional practice guidelines.
I have also worked for several years with Corporate Companies as a Trainer and Manager focussing on communication, interpersonal, goal setting and confidence skills, selling skills and presenting.
I am trained in public speaking.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
CBT helps to find and implement coping mechanisms and alternative ways of dealing with concerns, problems or unhelpful behaviour. This can bring quick solutions and focus as well as life- long skills. CBT helps you challenge and identify your automatic thoughts.
Basically what we think affects how we feel, and how we feel affects our behaviour (which causes our actions and reactions). These reactions have a consequence to ourselves and others, which if not helpful can be addressed with CBT, giving more positive and constructive, healthy outcomes.
Person Centred Therapy
Encourages self- awareness and self -actualisation. Helps look at behavioural patterns and personality traits. Highlights unhelpful or destructive repeated behaviour.
In other words, it helps you work out who you really are, find true acceptance of yourself and discover what you can do to improve and grow emotionally to be the best you can possibly be.

An approach that helps deal with and seek solutions to a problem or blocks you may be experiencing. This is also helpful for Life Coaching support and corporate training as it explores inter personal and life challenges such as:

Solution Focussed Therapy builds motivation and personal strengths.
EMDR – Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing treatment. For helping with traumas, PTSD and Phobias. When a person is very upset, their brain cannot process information in the usual way. One moment becomes “stuck in time,” and recalling a trauma can feel as bad as going through it the first time as the images, sounds, smells, and feelings have not changed. These memories have a lasting negative effect that interferes with the way a person sees the world and the way they relate to other people.
EMDR can have a direct effect on the way that the brain processes information. Normal information processing is resumed, so following a successful EMDR session, a person no longer relives the images, sounds, and feelings when the event is brought to mind. You still remember what happened, but it is less upsetting. EMDR can have a similar affect as to what occurs naturally during dreaming (REM (rapid eye movement) sleep. Therefore, EMDR can be thought of as a physiologically based therapy that helps a person see disturbing material in a new and less distressing way.
